The Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, on Friday, revealed that its attacks on oil installations in the region are aimed at making the Niger Delta a sovereign state and not for pipeline contracts.
The band of militants, whose ultimatum to the federal government elapsed yesterday, warned: “the International Oil Companies, IOCs, and the Nigeria military, watch out, something big is about to happen and it would shock the whole world.”
The group disclosed this in a message on its Twitter handle @NDAvengers on Friday which berated the Niger Delta stakeholders meeting held in Abuja last Wednesday as an insult to the people of the region.
While claiming responsibility for the bombing of another NNPC crude oil and gas trunk lines, near Warri, Delta State, at 11.45 pm on Thursday, NDA boasted that the attack happened even though the facility was closely guarded by soldiers when its strike team struck.
The Twitter messages which appeared at about 8:10 this morning read, “At 11:45PM on Thursday, @NDAvengers blew up another NNPC Gas and Crude trunkline close to Warri.
“The Niger Delta stakeholders meeting is an insult to the people of the Niger Delta. What we need is a sovereign state, not pipeline contracts.”
